Ruben Moya

Senior Director, Operations & Special Projects

Ruben Moya is an operations and business development leader with more than 24 years of experience spanning economic development, consulting, commercial real estate, and the private sector. Throughout his career, Ruben has helped businesses and organizations navigate growth, transition, and change by building stronger systems, identifying opportunities, cultivating relationships, and turning ideas into action.

As Senior Director of Operations & Special Projects at Perch Advisors, Ruben oversees the firm’s internal operations, business development, and organizational strategy while leading special projects and supporting client engagements across its economic and community development portfolio. His work sits at the intersection of people, process, and opportunity, with a focus on creating the structures and connections that allow organizations, projects, and teams to move forward.

Prior to joining Perch Advisors, Ruben founded Curated Cornucopia, an advisory practice created to help business owners address both immediate operational needs and longer-term goals. Through customized strategies and hands-on support, he worked with entrepreneurs to strengthen operations, develop business opportunities, improve customer experience, and navigate periods of growth and transition. That entrepreneurial experience continues to inform his approach at Perch, particularly his understanding that successful strategies have to work not only on paper, but in practice.

Ruben previously spent five years with Cushman & Wakefield’s Retail Services team, where he supported multi-market business development and global account management across North America, as well as cross-border activity throughout the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Working within a global commercial real estate platform gave Ruben experience coordinating complex teams, clients, markets, and opportunities while developing strategies to support business growth. His work connected relationship management, business development, and operations, strengthening his ability to see both the big picture and the systems required to execute it.

Earlier in his career, Ruben spent several years working at the intersection of economic development, small business, and neighborhood revitalization in New York City. At the Times Square Alliance, he developed initiatives designed to strengthen connections between the district’s businesses and the hundreds of thousands of employees and residents who moved through and around Times Square each day. He helped reshape the district’s digital presence and launched Times Square’s first mobile app, which received more than 100,000 downloads during its initial rollout. Ruben also planned and supported some of the Alliance’s highest-profile public events and initiatives, including the Times Square New Year’s Eve celebration.

At the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, Ruben helped lead the growth and evolution of the NYC Business Solutions Brooklyn Center, part of New York City’s system for connecting entrepreneurs and small businesses with financing, workforce services, training, incentives, and other resources. His work focused on expanding the Center’s reach, developing partnerships and outreach strategies, and ensuring entrepreneurs throughout Brooklyn could connect with the tools and expertise needed to start, operate, and grow their businesses.

Across these roles, Ruben has worked with entrepreneurs, executives, community organizations, government partners, property owners, and businesses ranging from emerging independent operators to global companies. His experience spans retail, hospitality, beauty, technology, fashion, entertainment, production, food and beverage, healthcare, real estate, and the nonprofit sector. This breadth has shaped an approach grounded in understanding what makes each organization different rather than applying the same solution everywhere.

Ruben holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and International Business from New York University’s Stern School of Business, where he specialized in Entertainment, Media, and Technology.

A storyteller and connector at heart, Ruben brings curiosity, creativity, and humor to his work. He is particularly interested in the ways businesses, organizations, and communities create spaces where people feel connected and invested. Whether working behind the scenes to strengthen an organization or helping move a new idea forward, Ruben’s approach is rooted in leaving people, places, and organizations stronger than he found them.
